You'd need to buy an old copy of 98SE and re-install the OS. I'd imagine eBay has a few people selling old copies they no longer need.

The alternative is to install a Linux distribution such as &lt;a href="http://www.ubuntu.com/" rel="nofollow"&gt;Ubuntu&lt;/a&gt;. If it's just a basic laptop which will access web / email and maybe a little bit of word-processing, Ubuntu is a fantastic alternative to Windows, and very easy to use.</description>
