Flat, internet, and Twitter
Flat
Moved into the flat last Friday, and am still moving bits in slowly
Internet
Should have internet installed tomorrow morning, provided Virgin Media do as they promise first time around (rare, in my experience).
Not that I care much, since I’ve been sharing a space with friends, the social interaction / Mario Karting more than supplements any online social activities I used to engage in whilst alone at home!
Also just installed Twitter + Plugin as a lot of the stuff in my head isn’t worthy of a blog post.
Stay tuned, I have a fairly useful Tech post coming up tomorrow! ![]()
Updated to WordPress 2.3.1
Just found a few minutes to update Wordpress and a few plugins
Things with the flat in Cambridge are progressing well, and we should get the keys tomorrow, hooray!
Also, at some point, I need to upload photos that Jade and I took on our recent trip to the beautiful island of Jersey ![]()
Update
Just wanted to take 10 minutes or so to highlight what’s going on in my life at the moment, and perhaps explain why I’ve not been very active online lately.
Work
I started my new job at DisplayLink on the 17th of September. I’m enjoying it a lot, but the hours and commute are longer than Crownhill so I’m generally finding myself with less spare time than before.
Life
Naturally, most weekends are spent away from a computer, with Jade, either in Cambridge or London. I just added a bunch of photos from my latest visit to London on Flickr, where we popped into Camden, Covent Garden, along the Thames, towards the Millenium Bridge, a brief stop at St Paul’s, and then onto the Tate Modern. It was a very pleasant day
I’ve also been looking for a flat in Cambridge to reduce my commute.
Blog
The blog has been neglected badly. I have a lot of things I want to do and post about, and also a lot of draft posts that I need to finish, including:
- Investigating the new aircrack-ng 1.0 beta with (alleged) AirPcap Tx support built in
- Testing the new AirPcap Tx beta from CACE (Probably best left to Crownhill for the moment)
- Automating software deployments using AutoIT
- Setting up a WSUS Server
- Basic Linux commands
This will all come in time.
It’s official

I’m pleased to announce that on the 17th September 2007, I will be joining DisplayLink as a Systems Administrator.
It was a tough decision but, ultimately, DisplayLink offered everything I was looking for in a new role:
- Great benefits.
- Relaxed dress code.
- Flexible working hours.
- A commitment to support personal and technical development.
- And finally: I like the company, and I like what they’re doing.
It’s got me thinking… What made you choose your current position?
